Bump, would appreciate some red pills on why countries are willingly enriching themselves compared to building strong self-reliant nations

It is not desirable. Masses should realize that the optimal conditions for living exist when you have to struggle but don't starve.
The Westerners have became so rich that they either don't have to work at all or have artificial Starbucks-tier jobs. There's no struggle in their life so they become weak, decadent and even suicidal.
The only thing that's wealth good for is military. But you have to keep people relatively poor.

That said, that hasn't happened yet so nobody knows if it will stop growing and so we cant know what would happen if it stopped growing.

instead of a value attached by precious metals backing it the value is a reflection of economic activity. so as long a governments dont have budgets that run into the red (debt) it auto adjust so as a economy cools less money can be minted or more can be minted but all of it lowers in value

the united states has attempted to side step the down side by inflating the value on wall street but internationally its accepted the dollar isnt worth as much as the U.S government says so the price for things obtained from outside sources grows
