Does anyone else predict that the Democratic party will split

Something along those lines seems like a nice idea, but it's difficult to imagine either party truly allowing itself to be the first to split and give up its accumulated power.

Dem leadership won't allow it. The actual socialists are completely cucked by the minorities and the media/political/academic machine that spews identity politics at them.

I think the Democratic Party will slowly go more and more left. The party realizes they have to step into Bernie tier socialism to keep any momentum with youth voters while people like my parents and grandparents who are more conservative Dixiecrats die off. Anyone who isn't at that level will probably find themselves drifting into the Republican Party and trying to pull it more to the center.

Dems or Republicans could split. Possibly both. We could find ourselves with a Socialist Party splitting off the Dems (though more likely they'd go by some other name). I think it's also possible a major wing of the Republican party may jump ship, either to be more libertarian or more centrist/statist. The lines have really shown up while they've tried to get the Obamacare repeal.
