An organism evolves according to the pressure it receives from it's environment. The environment can either: a) exert to much pressure and extinguish the organism, b) exert some pressure which allows the organism to evolve accordingly or c) exert little to no pressure at all so the organism doesn't have the need to evolve.

Evolution is just a theory. It's not a law like gravity is. There are several animals that have highly advanced body features that seem to be designed by a higher power. The bombardier beetle is one such animal that seems too complex for evolution to get right.

Horseshoe crab?

One of the most highly-evolved eyeballs in the entire animal kingdom.

Kind of weird for such an advanced eye design to show up so early in the Evolutionary process, huh?

Kind of weird how they say that all animals are evolving to become better, but when we compare ancient animals to their modern day counterparts, cave bears to Grizzlies, for instance, or ancient turtles to modern turtles, or ancient INSECTS such as dragonflies compared to modern dragonflies, we see quite the opposite.

Everything now is a smaller, weaker, less robust, and has a much shorter lifespan with more evidence of genetic mutation.

Like things aren't evolving, they're degenerating. Decaying. Deviating from the original source code.

Straying further from their Creator's design.

some do some don't. If the original is still fit for the area it will survive too.
The Bowlbug is a good creature for it's enviornment and is well adapted for it. Over a few hundred thousand years some of it's offspring develop barbs that let it survive better in neighboring waters, which it starts occupying. Over time the ones with the best barbs survive and the weaker barbs perish, making their barbs better as a whole. After a while other favorable mutations appear and are selectes, and 100x more unfavorable mutations come into play and are squashed. Eventually this leads to a new species entierly, while the original bowlbugs are still fine in their home waters. This is God's most perfect tool of engineering.

They have almost 360° vision, at night they hunt and at day they hide on the seabottom.

At night they have excellent vision, hunting is easy for them + evading enemies is easy to, when you have 360° visual lenghwave and infrared lenghwave eyes.

Their habitat did not change a lot.

Their food is very small, so they find something very often.

These creatures never had to change because they are perfect for their

>>127641200
That's not how it works, the primary factor of evolution is natural selecton, the process of creatures with better genes surviving and creatures with worse genes dying. Say for example if this species of crab suddenly had a change in environment that kills off crabs with weak or average strength chitin armour, the only crabs that would survive are the crabs that have stronger chitin than most. Suddenly the old type of soft-shell horseshoe crab goes extinct and you have a new breed of hard-shell horseshoe crabs. If it doesn't need to change to adapt to its environment then it probably wont change much. There is a chance that somewhere along the line a random, beneficial mutation takes place and propagates successfully through the gene pool but that chance is very slim compared to the effect natural selection has on the evolutionary process.

Laws describe something as it appears. For example, mass is attracted to other mass proportional to the size of the mass and the distance between their centers. It can be verified a million times.

Theory describes process behind it. Why does this happen and how can you model it with maths so that it matches up with what you observe in the real world. So you get things like pic related. And attempts to explain the process on a quantum level as well (interaction of subatomic particles)

I find it interesting there might be different kinds of genes out there which have another way to sustain themselves other than refreshing by replicating every now and again

Any form of code that didn't happen to want to carry on existing would soon disappear. Forget the ancestor, forget life even. The first part was some DNA that replicated itself. All organic matter to come has been created by increasingly complex code in this acid, interacting with the changing environment, including it's "offspring" which has taken different paths and coming together to form this massive biosystem we see on earth.

Given basically infinite time and space it's not crazy to think this acid could arise somewhere by chance. Even perhaps on another world far from here. Or in some other environment from where it seeded the universe. Or just here. Or in several places in different ways.

Surely that would be an undertaking of science though, to look and learn and study. And would undermine traditional religion even more. There will still be a gap in knowledge for you to claim that god wrote the first code to replication or another kind of precursor to life. It wouldn't be the first time the goalposts have moved. What does god eventually become? A pseudonym for chance? Or for the universe itself?

Did "he" write the code for how the atoms interact, or subatomic things? Or is it just the nature of the universe. Remember you need evidence for the answer.

It is not an instinct towards survival. Survival in incidental to genes which are programmed with behaviours that facilitate procreation and survival.

You're putting the cart before the horse if you think that genes seek "survival" - a literally made-up human word to describe not dying. There are literally an infinite number of possible behaviours, mutations, and responses to external stimuli. The ones that result in survival are the ones that get passed on (statistically).

No. It can't be proven with a proper experiment, except only to show minor changes in similar species, so for instance macroevolutionists can present how a cat gets bigger ears or something, but they can never show how the fuck a fish could transform into anything which isn't fish-like

Macroevolutionists can't define the term "specie" precisely enough, so that people could actually verify their theory, because to macroevolutionists a yellow flower and a yellow flower with red dots are 2 different species. They do if there is such a relationship, if there isn't then they don't.>>127649908
>I'd imagine that with everything else being constant prey species and predator species would still select for any mutations that give them an edge over the other. For species that outlived their natural predators in such an environment it makes sense to me that they'd never change, but I can't really fathom animals being hunted or relying on hunting others never really changing.
Abyssal enviroments have few creatures spread out in insanely vast darkness. The deeper you go the less frequent each encounter between predator and prey, this basically means that the deeper you go the more primitive the lifeforms since predator-prey relations increase exponentially as you get closer to the surface where there is more light.

Basically, the deeper you go the more primitive forms you will find, while you will find sligtly evolved species as you go closer to the surface, you can literally see the diversification happen more often the closer to the surface you go, just look at anglerfishes from different depths and you will see what im talking about.

Evolution scales with environmental change. In practically unchanging organisms, there is little change in environment. Even so, it does evolve with random mutations and other related processes.

bait but there is nothing in evolution that requires an animal to get "better". It depends if the mutation is beneficial for that population in its eviroment.

For example, sickle cell anemia is always one they teach you in evolution courses to explain this. Sickle cell is a debilitating genetic condition that changes the shape of your red blood cells. It affects people with African heritage. Turns out, sickle cell greatly diminishes the effect malaria has on people, which is obviously widespread in Africa. It is an evolved trait that is passed on because instead of dying from malaria relatively quickly these people live long enough to spread their sickle cell genes. It isn't beneficial to have sickle cell as we see it in human society, but in biology terms its enough to breed and therefor a successful mutation.

Anyone who is a theist and really, truly looks into evolution realizes that the system itself is such an elegant and complex thing, life blossoming forth from little more than sludge to neverending complexity, that it confirms the existence of God.

The two are not mutually exclusive except to those who are too stupid to think for themselves.

I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea here, but this is a perfectly acceptable form of mental gymnastics any theist is welcome to perform as long as it gets them past "but why cant i turn watermelons into dogs" sorts of idiocy.

Evolution only speaks about how existing life changes. It says NOTHING of how life originally came to be.

If it makes any of you feel better that it wasn't billions of years of chance and if the chemistry of bio-genesis is too scary to contemplate, fine, whatever. You are free to believe the sky wizard made it all happen and, just to confound you, lied to his followers about the whole story instead of simply telling anyone about the fucking fossils.

Evolution is not a constant. Things evolve yes but they do not continuously evolve. The whole thing about survival of the fittest as said and meant by Darwin , and not the fucked up meaning which race baiters misconstrued to pretend to have an actual point which took off then as the common accept meaning by dumb dumbs of today, Is actually more literal in the sense that that which fits best in its environment and fills niches have better chances of survival.

Which is why humans have managed to survive and rise to the top of the food chain. Since not only are humans intelligent but they are more caring of one another. Humans and its ancestors worked in groups and took care of one another. Similar to animal packs yet humans were even more caring since they took care of the sick and disabled which other animals would just let die.
So evolution aint a constant sadly. And tends to stop or slow down when there is a balance of sort that have no need for new shit to happen in creatures since they would all fill their own niches in which any changes could ultimately hinder and weakening a creature and endanger its and others ecosystem with its potential disappearance

>In one study that appeared in The Lancet in 1977, for example, researchers compared a group of 740 American veterans of World War II who had had their spleens removed as a result of battle injuries with a similar size sample of veterans who had suffered other war injuries but had kept their spleens. The splenectomized men, the researchers found, were twice as likely to die of cardiovascular disease as were the veterans in the control group. All of which means that despleening should be diligently guarded against, particularly among our little sports warriors, perhaps through the wearing of appropriate protective gear.

Question here. I do believe in evolution, but what I don't quite understand is how it works. For example, when primates branched out into humans, how did they begin to walk on two legs? Even if the primitive humans learned walking on two legs was more helpful, how does that eventually lead to them becoming anatomically upright? Same with fish, how did they gain legs? I understand they evolve because they develop a need to do so, but HOW does that happen?

Small stepps. If you look at fish fin you can see that anatomically it has parts that in amphibians turned into legs. First fish didn't left the water for long, they were still living in water and just jumping on land to escape from predators and so on. Mudskipper is a good model how they could looked like. Then they spend more and more time on land and legs of their descendants were stronger and more defined.
