Defend 1 thing Trump has done in office so far without mentioning liberals, Hillary, Obama, or the media.

Placed a 5 year ban on lobbying after serving on his administration.

Using american steel for american infrastructure is a good thing.
>>

Getting two scoops isn't a bad thing
>>
Less regulations on small businesses allowing for a more fertile market for new businesses
>>
The only thing I voted for Trump for has already been done. Having a conservative supreme court. Or did you faggots forget about that already?
>>
>>127513784

What regulations has he removed?
>>
>>127513505
Get two scoops. He's a large man and it's natural that that staff caters to his wants because he's the host. People seemed to have ignored the fact that Pence got a fruit plate instead, which requires much more work from the staff than literally putting one more scoop.

But you put no thought into this shitty b8 thread, so sage.

Yeah, no. It's only marginally more "conservative" than it was before, and that's assuming Gorsuch is actually more conservative than Scalia, which even that's probably just MSM disinformation to make Trump appointing Gorsuch to replace Scalia actually making the Court even more conservative.

With any luck, Trump will be replacing Kennedy and Ginsburg as well. That would definitely tilt the court originalist. If Hillary won, Scalia would've been replaced with a flaming lib and the court would already be guaranteed progressive Left for the next 20 years.

Did you forget how many Democrats were willing to vote for Gorsuch before the Democrat base started prostesting? The difference between Garland and Gorsuch was negligible. Some Republicans were even gunning for Garland to become the new FBI director.

It's all just a smoke and mirrors to keep you entertained.

The upper echelon of politics in America always tends to lean conservative by default. The last liberal president was Nixon. Not much to be "won" if you are just fighting for the default.
>>

>>
>>127514700
>idiot
Ironic. Maybe this isn't the case in your backwards, irrelevant country, but in our system, pretty much every important Supreme Court decision is a binary choice, and Gorsuch is pretty much guaranteed to always make the more conservative, constructionist choice. Saying that he's "establishment" isn't an argument, as pretty much every person that would likely be confirmed to the Supreme Court would be "establishment," as it indicates they have high standing among their peers.

Even when leafs try to imitate other posters, they shitpost. The excuse that you're b8ing only goes so far, and you fucks probably really are that stupid.

It's a major difference on many issues which come before the Supreme Court, not least of which is the Second Amendment.
>Some Republicans were even gunning for Garland to become the new FBI director
FBI directors can be fired if they betray their purpose. Supreme Court justices cannot be. Garland is enough of a professional for me to trust him as FBI director. I would never trust him to make decisions faithful to the Constitution on the Supreme Court.

Stated differently, believing in a "living and breathing Constitution" doesn't automatically make you a bad choice for FBI director. It makes you a terrible choice for the Supreme Court.

Breyer appeared moderate when he was nominated. Like most Supreme Court justices, he's lurched Left. The fact he subscribes to the "living and breathing" view and rules based on how he guesses his decisions will affect society going forward makes him a Progressive in the truest political sense offered by Woodrow Wilson and co. over 120 years ago.

Again, what is your fucking point? What bizarre ignorance do you have of our political system? Nominees are only confirmed by the Senate.

If you meant that because the Senate was Republican that Obama couldn't confirm a justice, that's true, and they basically gambled that either Trump would win, or they could hold on to the Senate long enough to confirm a conservative justice under a future Republican president. Either was unlikely, but one of them came true, so the Republican leadership gambled and won.

I would have to see the methodology behind this rating. I disagree with making Alito more conservative than Thomas, and Kagan more liberal than Sotomayor.

Anyway, relying on this gap, Breyer is just about never going to cast a deciding vote for a conservative decision because the four other Justices, and Kennedy, would already secure the vote. This is especially true for major decisions.

Gorsuch seems legit. The travel ban seemed legit, we all know those regions are gonna cause problems, maybe not today but maybe in a year or 10 years or even 30 years like that libyan bombing in Manchester. Like that he's taking on the lying media, if you think the media isn't concocting a false narrative despite of facts go read WaPos article about Jeremy Christian where they call him a far-right extremist and try to paint him as a Trump supporter, completely omitting his hatred of Trump and support of Bernie. Like his budget, any cut is a good cut in my books, and I say that as a public servant. The only way to shrink government is through cuts, that's simply the only way. Seems like he's done well on getting jobs to stay in the country, I know it's a drop in the bucket but the journey of 1000 miles starts with one step. Trump would dominate. The left is eating itself and has more in common with a self cannibalizing disease process than a political movement of the people. Get real for a minute.

Another Trump "populist" here lol

You all are doomed to political failure. At least be better at fake populism like Obama was.

The left hardly even exists in the world, particularly the US. In the US it's all moderates and right-wingers debating whether or not to let capitalism destroy itself or let welfare programs, job guarantees (through a WPA program or a war), and huge government deficits save it again.

But yes I do agree that whatever exists in the left resembles a venereal disease, unfortunately.

I don't know that. He would get buried in the popular vote, but even CNN is reporting that something like 98% of people who voted for him would still do so. He'd carry the states that matter

If you dont think that the left exists amongst a large voting demographic aged 18-40 here in the US in coastal elite cities, college campuses and super counties im eager to here what these fanatics are. I understand that the people they vote in are mostly progressive and not actual leftists but amongst the most populous insulated group in america, the demographic mentioned above, I see leftists.

>coastal elite cities, college campuses and super counties

I live in Fairfax County, second wealthiest county in the US, with the first wealthiest county right next to me, and it's swamped with liberal colleges. I live within walking distance from one.
Democrats always win, and it was a Clinton sweep.

Left means anti-hierarchical. This is literally the most hierarchical place in the US, maybe the world. Just full of professional liberals trying to out-career each other.

He was always a liberal you know.... The amount of people that didn't understand the irony of the Colbert Report when it first came out (and for a special few, the entire run) staggered me.

Although, yea his current show sucks, and he's just a walking arrogant piece of shit.

Yes, left has and does mean that amongst other things. Take European leftism for example and its being defined by a variety of things to include social democracy, communism and left wing populism (what we are seeing in the areas I mentioned). Left wing populism has indeed taken root across these areas with their battle cry of anti-elitist sentiments, opposition to the system and speaking for the "common people" now commonly known as the minority be it racial, gender, economic, perceived status, etc. They are the left. Different than perhaps what a "pure" leftist of the past would like to see but left nonetheless.

Ok now here's where I differ from other leftists.
The Sanders and Stein campaigns and those that led it were BARELY anti-elitist.

And because college was the #1 issue Sander harped on. I**t was the battle-cry of failed professionals wanting to join the professional class or fuck things up.** They have potential to start a more anti-elitist campaign once they realize HALF OF THEM AREN'T IN THE FUCKING PROFESSIONAL CLASS AND THEY AREN'T GOING TO BE, EVEN IF COLLEGE IS FREE (I'm looking at you Sanders supporters)

There's a sort of half-baked idea floating around corners of leftist academia that the failed professionals will evenutally stop trying to become professionals, join the working class, and use their brains to properly organize them back to former strength or better.

But again, it's a half baked idea, as it's never explained how this happens, as even welfare recipients see themselves as temporarily embarrassed millionaires their entire lives.
