I never really consciously cut it out but I just don't really like to drink anymore. I mean I wouldn't be adverse to having a couple drinks in the right circumstances, but I don't seek out reasons to get drunk.

I had a rough patch maybe 2 years ago where I was drinking 2L of whiskey every few days or so (at least 4-6L per week) and did some really dumb shit during that ordeal, went on for 4 or 5 months. After that I haven't had a drop, so its been about 1.5 years for me.

But, really, it's about who you choose to associate yourself with in AA. I'm an attorney and I run with a very educated, professional, and older crowd. Guys who are mostly in their 50s and 60s. A lot of doctors, lawyers, professors, engineers, etc... Young people in AA mostly suck, particularly because their mostly heroin addicts, and junkies suck for the most part. But there are tons of good people in AA too. Like any organization in life.

I quit all caffeine last week and the change has been enormous. The physical withdrawals were worse than any drug I've ever kicked, including alcohol and nicotine. Blinding headaches for like 48 - 72 hours. Only started feeling normal a few days ago.

Been drinking a few times a week for the past 10 years and been drinking daily for the past 7 to 8 months. It's definitely better sober, it's beyond belief how easy it is to fuck your liver and kidneys up for life. I'm 28 and I've known people who have died in their early 30s from liver failure and I've known people a few years younger than me who died from cirrhosis. Hell, I've even known people who quit drinking for thirty years and then came down with cirrhosis out of nowhere.

I'm not THAT bad compared to them in that I only drink beer (meaning, my entire liquid intake for the day is beer, I'd say I take down a good 10 to 14 beers a day), but these people were drinking straight bottles of hard liquor for years and years.

Yeah, not all alcohol is created equal, but it's all incredibly bad for you and it will kill you eventually. Like I said, I've seen people in their mid 20s die from this shit.

Alcoholic here, i drink about 12 bottles of 0.5 liters 5.5% a day, or sometimes a bottle of wine with 6 beers, sometimes just a bottle of vodka till i get so tired i sleep.

Today is my first sober day, because i have no money left, well i have enough for 2 sicks packs but lidl is closed at sunday, and i wanted to stop anyway.

The threads dying but I don't see how people can do that. How would you even function? I've even tried to get on their level a couple times but I felt like absolute shit all the time.

Well you can't be that bad then, I always have an extra stash of booze (for real bad mornings and holidays), and know the hours and holiday hours of every liquor and beer store within 50 km
