The average is too high, I'd say it's somewhere around 15 for people 20-29 yo. Maybe 20 in non-cucked countries with more masculine men.
Push ups are about getting used to doing them. A year ago I started a program called 100 Push Ups, I did 25 the first time, then in several weeks I was doing 60 or so. Then I quit and now I think I can do the same 25 as before. I'm a bit overweight though. The thing is, you can ask a weightlifter to do push ups, and if he doesn't do them regularly, he might do fewer than a regular guy with poor muscles who did two or three weeks of that 100 push ups program. So it's not a representative of muscle strength.

I 50 every morning while my shower warms up. If you can't do 50 push-ups on a clip, you seriously are not even in the running to call yourself a man or non-degenerate.
