As automation and computerization continues to increase at such a rapid level, what is a viable answer to this problem? As they become more and more efficient, better designed and cost less, it's only a matter of time before even doctors and lawyers are out of a job. Thoughts?

Universal income. You can continue to post this thread everyday and you will get the same answer every time.

Or the people with robots/AI/automation will kill the ones who don't. Much more likely looking at human history. Much more likely.
>>
>>127212550
This. The (((job creators))) will have to pay a huge automation tax on every single robot they own in order to fund the UBI.
>>
>>127211322
> Lower taxes
> Lower cost of living
> Lower population
> A more socially intelligent culture
> A more social economic model

All of these things are incompatible with present day capitalism, financially dominated economies, usury/interest, fractional reserve lending, inflation models, and our social immaturity which is why there are so many conflicts on the horizon.

It would be great if the world could be ushered into this new age/era of technology as it is, However people don't want to change nor do systems and power structures.. So, there will likely be a lot of destruction and bloodshed before we get there because people are that dumb and unwilling to change.

Go innawoods

We can't fix a problem that's rooted in so many institutions of our society, it has to collapse on its own

Automatisation has never resulted in long-term unemployment. It's voodoo economics.

And then the economy will readjust for the n-th time.
>>
>>127213773
Nice meme, all those millions of unemployed taxi, truck, bus drivers and courtiers will suddenly become software engineers and neurosurgeons.
>>
>>127213137
Who's gonna make them?
>>
Legislation will eventually have to be created to protect employment. You can't have a product/service driven economy operated by machines while having the expectation of unemployed financially struck consumers to continue elevating the market. Incentive to be a consumer is reduced. The society wouldn't be capitalist at that point. It would become a totalitarian regime where the citizens are entirely dependent upon either the state or private companies to distribute necessities.

You won't seize shit m8. The Capital has you on its dick too firmly for that.

How are they going to compete with countries that don't? Goods produced with automation are always going to be far cheaper.

If you believe that, you are fool.
>>
>>127211322
>only a matter of time

That time will never come. All the people who can't become doctors or lawyers or something else that's difficult to automate have to settle for lower level jobs like being janitors or fast food workers, that tier of no training required, and they will be the first to be replaced. It's already happening that fast food workers are being replaced by simple automated ordering stations. When the tipping point is reached that enough people are rendered unemployable because there are no appropriate jobs available, then welfare will increase disproportionately and economies will falter and collapse, and the cycle will start again.

Do you really think the conman you have leading the countries of the world are smart enough to plan for and eliminate this eventuality?

Consider the following: if the economy is nearly fully automated, wouldn't that cause very large deflation for food, consumer goods, & even as the OP mentioned doctors being automated, healthcare? Providing those basics at a level equal to what a working class or even middle class person gets today might even be cheaper for the government than what current benefit programs costs, & need less in taxes. Think about how a person who is on disability & food stamps today has in some ways a higher quality of life than a middle class person did 100 years ago.
