As someone who doesn't follow either I watched their back-and-forth and Varg really speaks better, he's more articulate and says what he means verbosely and I think that sort of comes with age. I'd wager Christians killed more of each other than they did Muslims historically.
Pagans killed for religious reasons on a much less common basis (they still did it of course). Pagans overwhelmingly killed one another for resources rather than for senseless religious differences, whereas countless Christians were killed because of minor heresies. The same is seen in the Islamic world, with violent sects in perpetual conflict.
Especially in Europe, our gods were highly-related. The different gods were more of cultural variations than separate faith figures.
