I remember when I used to be into video games and play ~30 hours a week in high school/early college. Couldn't do it anymore after my freshman year of college.
Can't find any games that interest me enough to play that much and now I like to do other things.
Got into working on cars, fishing, and being outside. Video games are fun to play with my friends but I can't sit there for hours on end every day like I used to. I would say more productive hobbies are the solution. Unless you're playing strategy games, video games don't really stimulate your mind and aren't productive. There are better ways to spend your time.

You're supposed to grow out of them. They eventually get repetitive and boring like you say and so it's not surprising that someone might look towards other forms of entertainment. Plus the same individual should be older by now (probably adult) which means they should have the money to do other things now. It worked like that for me and I could say the same for my friends.

Video games aren't implicitly addictive, they're just fun and time consuming. The kid's problem isn't even that he plays video games; its that he lacks the maturity and discipline to know when he needs to stop and get some work done.

Calling something an addiction that's not an addiction is just a way to deflect blame away from oneself. If you play video games instead of being productive, its your fault period.

In all honesty the best cure for all these man children would be if men were allowed to be men and mentor younger men in the ways of life. Men have all the responsibilities in the world, while women have choices. That sort of knowledge can't be found whacking it to trannies, playing some online game, or dressing up furry costumes. I guarantee you if this faggot had a peer that showed him the way of life, and he was willing to accept, things would go 100% better.

I recommend joining the Knights of Columbus or volunteer at Habitat for humanity. Meeting some old farts that have lived twice your lives can give you perspective and you'll learn ideas on anything from mechanical help, carpentry, women, and family.

I used to be heavily into video games, stayed home from school a lot, but it was never in my wildest imagination to drop out. Now that I am older I really don't feel the same when playing vidya anymore, it feels a lot more dull, and more importantly; I feel like absolute shit while playing them.

It's like I know this shit is for kids and teenagers, and I feel that there are so many better things I could spend my time doing. I guess it's the subconscious actually trying to help me out for once.
