I want to sell pre-printed fandom papercraft kits at anime cons to kids and other people who are new to papercrafting.
At the same time I know there are a good handful of people who use pep for cosplays and are familiar with it already, but I'm not sure if the models I want to sell will appeal to them.
Should I print lined models that feel more approachable, or should I print lineless and just include full instructions?
pic related, it's one of my models.
Nobody buys them so it doesn't matter. Everybody just wantes free stuff so you won't sell much and they have to be really cheap. Think it over

On top of that, you can and prolly will get sued if you try to sell fan art of copyrighted characters.
Maybe for already made ones, a lot of people do not do papercrafts because they are too hard to do and nobody has the nerves to do it. And the 5% of people who do papercrafts themselves do the free ones. There are tons of them on the internet, not to mention model game rips, why buy one then?
1. People will by these at Anime Cons. Fans like supporting fans and there are many spontaneous buyers. Provided that you have an already well made model to demo.
2. The people who buy these at the cons are mostly beginners. Provide the lines, otherwise they will get lost.
3. If a more veteran papercrafter wants it, they will most likely ask for the digital files. They are also very picky and least likely to be your buyer unless your work is extremely detailed/talented.
A well designed papercraft template shouldn't have lined/lineless variations at all. You should create one version that has as as many fold lines hidden from the builder as possible but not all e.g. just for tabs and sharp edges. Look at some of Chokipeta's work for examples.

Because they're going to be preprinted, and I plan on including extras with them that make it more foolproof for display, like weights for the feet. Preprinting takes the "hurr what paper I use???" question out, which is a pretty huge one for newbies. I want to include a basics blurb with glue/cutting recs too.

I'll definitely put up base models for all the designs and maybe auction them off for the people who want a finished one. I was thinking about selling digital files via Etsy but then that makes me afraid of going all Masamune on people.

I didn't think about that! That's a really good idea, I fucking love Chokipeta.
Thanks for the input so far guys!
