I made a /tg/ thing about bikini barbarians and I made minis for it.
This is probably my most complicated papercraft thing that I've made (screwed around with my own designs a few times, didn't publish them) so I'm looking for critique. Thanks!

I like the idea!
So they are 1" hight and 2/5" in diameter.
I'm missing the tabs on the bodies (pic).
Going to build some tomorrow.
>>529262
Yeah, those are the measurements.
The tab you added isn't necessary because there's a slight overlap at the back. I didn't feel precise enough to do it that way. I suppose adding one might make it easier, though.
OP here. Decided to organize a bit so that people don't end up having to print crap they don't want to actually use. Here's one sheet for a swarm of low quality, poorly equipped bikini barbarians. Can't tell if I hate the new hairstyle yet, we'll see.

Finished one today.

Here some other styles without arms and weapons. My concern is their top is to heavy and they topple. Depends on your game.

Size comparison with Flipit figure.
And the lady most to the left will have the knives in/under her armpit. If you move them more to the back I would turn them upside down. They are easier to handle/pull out that way.

Nice, thanks.

Yeah the balance is something I've been struggling with. I tried a version with a flap on the bottom to glue stuff to, but it was pretty hard to assemble. My current strategy is wadding up scrap paper and jamming it into the bottom half of the tube, which works much better than it has any right to. Still, open to suggestions on that one.

Oh, that's a good point. She's up for revision anyway so I'll do that.
Appreciate the comments... this is definitely a git gud project for me rather than something where I'm already gud and share my shining masterful results.

As I said you can build a single figure stand
(fix the stand to a base) or some for a group of figures (see Fipit). Do it in the same colour as the base. You can overlay on an appropriate background.
>>529318
The figures look nicer with a belly button and a visible separation of the legs in the front (in the rear it will do the join).
>>529324
I was kind of hesitant about the leg separation but I think you're right. The lack of a belly button is just an oversight, I'd actually meant to put those in and forgotten.
>>529323
So... that little rectangular prism gets wedged into the bottom of the figure, then glued to a base? I think I must be misunderstanding this, because it seems a little bit complicated.
>>529328
Glue the prism to the base first. The figure can be removeable.
>>529329
Oh, I see, clever. I like how they blended in the empty one. My game that goes with the models has them all moving independently, so mass movement bases aren't real helpful, though I am going to put at least one vehicle together and they'll probably help out a lot there.

might also be useful
I tried to post the link but it's considered spam
google for: papermau blogspot
He has a jungle hut that might fit in size.
Other suggestion: flags should have a logo/picture on bothe sides.

The extra bit of color on the tabs is a good idea, I've had trouble with those ending up more visible than they should be.
Also, just posting a small amount of testing I did. This is definitely not final, as obviously the eyes are fucking trash, which is sort of why I posted them. What's the best way to handle eyes/eyelashes? Black everything vs colored outline vs white center vs colored center vs etc. I have a feeling it might just end up being case by case because they all seem to have the potential to look like shit. Also, what do people think of the smaller eyelashes? I think they're sort of better but it might also end up being an optional thing.
Separate legs are confirmed, as are belly buttons, though.
anywhere i can get the rules and stuff, i wanna give this a go :p

Here's the latest version. It should be sort of usable.

single figure stands

That actually makes me think about representing status effects using the bases. I could put marks on the base and the players could rotate the model to the appropriate one. Hmm.
