>Sony a6300, MSRP in Canada is $1300 for body only
>Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8, MSRP in Canada is $1100
>Sigma 30mm f/1.4, MSRP in Canada is $600
>Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 OS, MSRP in Canada is $500
>Sigma MC-11 Canon EF to Sony E adapter, MSRP in Canada is $350

Someone is selling the above as a bundle alongside other miscellaneous throwaway stuff like closeup filters, a bag, extra lens cloths and caps, for $3300 when retail is around $3850.

Is this a good introduction to MILC? I have a few Canon lenses but my camera was stolen and not super impressed with Canon MILC offerings.
>>
>>3137918
is it stolen? Probably not, a $500 discount on something that's not new is minimal at that price point. The a6300 is a great camera though. I've had one for over a year now and love it. Only drawback is that it will overheat on 4k recording for long periods of time, so be aware. If you have the money to drop like that, go ahead and do it. Just make sure you don't get robbed
>>
>>3137926

The guy has a couple hundred feedback on the forum I'll be getting it from, and meeting in a local place. It's used but it can't be used for that long considering the newness of the a6300 and MC-11.

It's only $500 discount, sure, but I'm hoping it's still a good bundle.
>>
>>3137933
i mean ideally you would want a better deal for used but if it's all in mint condition and he's reputable then it could be worth it.
>>
>>3137948

Well, it's closer to $1000 discount considering our 13% tax + enviro fees.

Honestly I was looking at the a6000 as a good entry MILC as well as the 18-35 anyways. This bundle on its own is around $1700 here, and I'd need the MC-11 to make it work anyways. The 18-35 is insanely sharp for the $1000 pricetag. None of that is even considering tax.
>>
>>3137918
Problem with this bundle is all the focal length duplication. You'll just end up using the 18-35 all the time and probably buying a fast 50 for portraits.
>>
>>3138307
Also this...
>>
>>3138307

Well I'm hoping the brunt of my Canon lenses work with the MC-11. I have an 85mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.8 alongside some others that become redundant once I have the 18-35. You're right though, the 18-35 would be a general purpose due to its speed and, while narrow, focal range.

I can't be too picky since it's a bundle and otherwise it would cost a lot more.
>>
>>3138312
Well.

OP did want an introduction to MILC.
What better way to learn how awkward they are with anything but small native primes?
>>
For 3300 Canadian pesos you can find a much much better mirrorless and 1 or 2 better lenses.

If you go for this deal you better lowball offer him for $3k or under at least.

At least this guy had the sense to not fucking buy overpriced sony lenses.
>>
I can see the appeal of using old DSLR lenses on mirror-less bodies.

But buying (relatively) new lenses to use with an adapter?
Why would you do such a thing?
>>
I don't know why you are placing such a high value on used gear regardless of MSRP.

Are you continuing the warranty?
Is the gear in mint condition?
Does the gear have all the boxes and manuals that came upon purchase?
Whats the shutter count?

Wow lens cloths and caps holy Fuck! A bag!

The batteries also wont hold the same charge as new batteries.

Paying anything over 2900 and he will walk away smiling. He is selling everything. I think he is quitting photography. If he needed quick money he would have parted from his least favorite lens or two.

I would not buy this deal.
>>
>>3138351

What alternatives do you suggest?

In the end I definitely want the 18-35 regardless, which necessitates an adapter. If I go Sony route, the MC-11 is the best one barring $800CAD (!!!) Metabones. Canon's MILC do not interest me.
>>
>>3138319
>not getting a used a7r and the mc11
Why would you gimp all your lenses on crop?

Or get the 18-35 and use the a7r in crop mode?
>>
If that's a BNIB bundle, it's worth it imo
>>
>>3138378

The a7r is literally almost double MSRP of the a6300 in Canada.
>>
>>3138372
A used sony FF. search ebay. Also, with a budget of $3300 you can buy a new grey market a7rii and still have $7-900 for lenses?
>>
>>3138384
FAKE NEWS. I see an a7r body on ebunger for $1400. the a6300 is $1000
>>
>>3138435

Not OP but Sony FF has pretty shitty features beyond the sharp shots it takes.
>>
>>3137918
Bruh, don't spend over 3k on a crop camera with a fucking giant ass crop only lens and a completely redundant crop only lens and a 35 - 70 f4 crop only lens.

A 2nd hand a7ii is under $1500 cad
That leaves enough spare for an mc11, 28 f2, 50 f1.8 and 85 f1.8. Or a decent 24-70 2.8 (which will be much sharper, more versatile and with more bokeh than the 18 - 35 on crop). If you shopped around a bit you could afford the 17-40l, 24-70 2.8L i and 70 - 200 f4L, no need to worry about is thanks to ibis.
>>
>>3137918
30 1.4 is like $299 here.
wew.
>>
>>3138571

The best deal I can find on used a7ii is $1650CAD with shutter count <500. Some eBay listings range from 2000-3000 shutter count for around $1800CAD. MSRP is $2000.

Are you in Canada? Because I can't find any remotely comparably priced lenses. The 18-35 is something I want already, and it necessitates the MC-11.

>a6300 + MC-11 + 18-35 + 30 + 17-50 = $3300
>a7ii + MC-11 + 18-35 = $3000 before 13% taxes

I don't see how I can make it work incorporating the a7ii.
>>
>>3138571
>crop is bad
i wish this meme would die
>>
>>3138588

Have you considered an a7? These are at most $200 more than the a6300.
>>
>>3138592
I think he wants autofocus
>>
>>3138588
Why would you get the 18-35 with a ff camera?

And you do know that it's an average performing, overpriced, meme lens.

And look at a7ii sold prices, the most recent is in great condition, comes with the mc11 and went for $1600. Don't worry about shutter count unless it's over 50k, even then it's got a 95% chance of being less than halfway through it's shutters lifespan.

>>3138590
>I don't understand physics or signal to noise ratio
I wish this meme would die.

>>3138592
A7 doesn't work well with adapted canon lenses and has no ibis.
>>
>>3138588
Why you putting the 18 35 with the a7ii? What do you think that lens on crop has over a 24 70 2.8 on ff?
>>
>>3138602

>what do you think that lens has over 24-70 f/2.8

Maybe its $2900CAD MSRP?
>>
>>3138602
We don't know. Dude is obsessed with it...I thought it was like a video zoom that only really worked with Canon af.
