What's the cheapest used micro 4/3s camera I can get? I want something small and light as a secondary camera, probably just going to adapt my current lenses to it and get some different focal length options with the smaller sensor.
Is the e-pl1 trash? Super cheap on ebay.

>adapt my current lenses
why bother? the whole point of m43 is small lenses
>>3127494
GX85 if you like video, O-M5 Mk.I if you want photoy only
Everything else is either too new or too old. That's the sweet spot right now

Why do you need a secondary camera?
>>3127510
For secondary shooting.
Not changing lenses on the street. Putting a crappy "creative" lens on one and a good one on the other, different focal lengths, that sort of junk.

I looked into it, even older, cheaper cameras like E-M10 Mk.I or GF7 are rare without a kitlens. it seems you'll only find old surplus stock that stores are selling off.
You'll have to scour the net yourself on that

m43 isn't very good for adapting manual lenses (unless it's half-frame or C-mount stuff), the pixel density of the sensor makes expensive FF lenses look worse than cheapo native ones.
e-pl1 isn't terrible if it's under $100, but it's really dated, and doesn't have focus peaking which sucks for manual focusing.
Ok the olympus e-pl1 and panasonic lumix gf1 can both be had for under 100 burgerbucks. Which do you choose?

GF1 has better controls and build quality, but no IS. E-PL1 has IS, but no control dials, and the default UI sucks balls (but can be made much better by screwing around with custom settings).
Of those two I'd probably pick lolympus, but neither of them are a good choice for adapted lenses IMO.
I have an E-PM1 I've been meaning to sell, it's... okay at base ISO, full size pic related, w/ kit 14-42mm lens. Strongly recommend you go a generation newer on the m43 sensors.
EP-5 has 5-axis IBIS, but no viewfinder. You can buy the viewfinder as a separate accessory though.

Yeaaaa the generation after looks wayyyyy better but it also costs 3x as much. Which is a problem for me.
Well folks. It happened. It happened. I low balled an olympus e-pm2 on ebay thinking I'd never get it and snagged it for under $100.
Did I fucked up?
>>3129457
No, aside from the lack of controls E-PM2 is great. It might not have 5-axis IS, but the sensor is as good as in any current m43 camera.
>>3129608
Well that's a relief. Now I just need to get decent lens on it...
>>3127879
I think the PM1 is a perfectly good camera for the price. You can easily find them for $50-75
