I use film and VSCO filters as well but I don't use VSCO, just the presets in Lightroom that I downloaded off one of the shared presets threads lolllololo

Personally, I treat the tiff files that I scan like Raw files and just edit them to fit my needs. I have increased saturation on Portra NC, toned down the colors on Portra VC. Hell, I once made a Portra VC Scan B&W because I felt that the color distracted from the composition after the fact.

These are all tools and there is no need to limit yourself. VSCO and fake grain is bullshit though, just learn to edit and if you want film grain, shoot film.
