Jeez how many rules of composition did I just break with this photo? Can you count them?

OP sure got me..
but come on dude, nobody takes rules of compositions seriously, you didnt have to "debunk" it for us
Ansel Adams generally had terrible composition. Technical know-how, but not much artistry.
OP photo is a piece of shit.
>>3124579
im disappointed by some of his work.
but its not GENERALLY shite, like, give me a break there
>>3124562
>nobody takes rules of compositions seriously
So that's why none of us made it to the exhibition. Okay.
>>3124583
kay mate, so many of the most appreciated works of art in photography dont follow the rules of composition at all.
then there are those famous photographs which DO follow the rules of compositions
you cant make rules, photography be an art
>>3124588
Art has to have rules. Otherwise ppl would have a hard time understanding and enjoying your work. Of course, you do understand your own mess and you can tell the story behind those photos to other ppl and get them impressed by it, but still, a good work of art has to make ppl stay and actually feel what you want them to feel without you having to explain it to them. you're not supposed to just liberally take pics based on intuition, but you have to spend a lot of time thinking as to what it is that you actually want to show to ppl. That you actually want to put in the picture. Remember, abstract art is NOT art, modern art is NOT art.
>>3124590
well of course, art still has to be visually stimulating, or it does have to catch your eye, or tell you a story, or have a humorous vibe. But non of this cannot be achieved if you dont follow the rules of composition. Thats why its not really a rule. I doesnt work at all for so many cases.

If you saw this posted somewhere else and didn't know it was shot by Adams...you wouldn't even give it a second look. That's such a boring, shite picture.
>>3124595

>>3124600

Lots of large format stuff looks good on the web. Shit, Burtynsky's work which demands to be viewed large, still looks good on the web.
Adams' stuff is just yawn-tier.
>>3128740
>>3128749
Can you recommend any non yawn-tier landscape photographers?
