How do you maximize grain? Is half-frame format really better for this?
>>3122730
add grain in photoshop
or shoot higher iso film
but yeah, you could really shoot a fucking meme format if you wanna lose resolution and upscalability
>>3122731
I don't care about resolution or... what is upscalability? I'm not printing billboards.
Any film recommendations?
>>3122730
1. take a picture with a film camera.
2. take a picture of that picture with the same film camera.
3. repeat until desired amount of grain is visible

Ilford Delta 3200
It's not necessarily billboards, even an A3 size print of a half-frame negative is crappy

R29 filter, shoot HP5 and push process in Rodinal
>>3122741
Lol
delta3200@6400 in 1:15 rodinal @ 28°C constant agitation, half-frame.
Or just MF foma retropan320 in whatever.
Or just, y'know, crop a lot.

What about color, anon?
Turn Fujifilm's grain simulation to max
>>3123002
Fuji Superia 1600, expired 10 years, shot box speed.

kodak gold shot & dev normal
>>3123025
I still don't know what to do with that film. I can predict how Portra will behave in almost all cases, but kodacolor pushed? Overexposed? Underexposed? Box speed and trusting the light meter? Always a surprise.

you have much more control over noise quality with modern digital photography than people ever did with film. if you really want to do something interesting, I'd look into that kind of manipulation
>>3122963
why the lol? this is real technique people have done for years.
