Here's a process video. You can create distinct layers in water by temperature and salinity. So the blue is one layer with a clear layer over it. The white paint sits on top of the dense blue layer slowly mixing with the top layer. I have some rad as fuck videos of it mixing but my 5Ds shoots in 8bit so the video has some serious banding issues.

I spent a long time on the framing. The big limitation is the other eye coming into frame and I am unwilling to shoot it and then photoshop it out.
