i think this one would be better from higher up to get above the trees in the foreground, also maybe with a bit of the sky cropped since it's just flat blue without anything really going on
Neither are great photos, but are perfectly acceptable as snapshots to show your friends and family. Look into using the rule of thirds and other photo composition techniques.
I like how the branch arches over and the fence directs the viewers' eye on the first photo, but apart from the row of trees there isn't much to be directed to.
The second photo is clearly a pretty location but doesn't give much insight past that. The photo is a little bit wide for my tastes personally too and could do with some cropping. If the horizon of the water was slightly higher it might be more visually appealing. For curiosity's sake, where was it taken?
