I would like to step out of the world of 35mm and into medium format photography. This is what I currently plan on buying. Can /p/ verify that I'm making a good choice here? Thanks.

in the faget there was recently an anon regretting buying a 645 camera. with such camera youll get an enhanced 35mm neg, but for that medium format feel (whatever that is) you should get 6x6 and bigger.

Thanks. I've mostly been looking around on KEH Camera and trying too keep the costs under 1,000 USD. One of the things that interest me about the camera is that I can change rolls in the middle of a roll with the interchangeable backings.

then youll be good with a modular system like the one found in Bronica cameras (as the SQA) and the Mamiya RB/RZ (both easily attainable within your budget).

I'll do some looking into that. Thanks.
deffo consider a 6x6 or 6x7 system, 645 is a god format if your taking pictures for a magazine or shooting weddings, or using it as a pseudo-xpan, but beyond that, 67 kicks its ass
There is this silly invention called digital photography and photoshop/gimp. The general idea is that you take a good composition and exposure of a mildly interesting subject and are then free to make it look like any retro finish you like in a few minutes in post-processing. No messy (or hazardous) chemicals, no waiting 3 weeks for film.
