A99II is the comfiest camera I've ever shot with, and I've rented 1DX and D810i and loved every moment with those.

Nothing says "muh dick" like the flapping of a Nikon, and 1DX just feels like a vault door.

Having killed an A99, these cameras ARE tough, they just have a shit ton of features that most never take the time to learn.
