D5500 vs D5600 is it worth the upgrade? The D5500 is on sale but im not sure
You know that Nikon's site has a literal "compare cameras" function, right?

I know but i've read it but im curious about it being hands on. I wanna know if its just worth it
D5500 offers a fancy red color.
D5600 has bluetooth while the other one does not. That is the only difference. Bluetooth allows you to use the app to remote control with it. Hardly a critical feature. Everything else between the two cameras is literally identical.

Both have snapbridge AFAIK, you should turn it off and never touch it again. It eats 2/3 of the battery alone.
I would go for a used D7000 or D7100 instead because much better UI, better build, rugged, weather sealed and can use cheap old screwdrive lenses.

Both literally the same camera as the D5300.
Is the D5xxx series the gimped one control dial plastic body lineup for Nikon or is that the D3xxx series? Or both series are gimped, one control dial, plastic trash?

The D3xxx series is the better value, an actual beginners camera. The D5xxx series is an "upgrade" for the soccermoms and goons who don't know better, an actual straight upgrade is the D7xxx line sans the latest D7500. It fits more in the D5xxx series.

get the d5500
I ended up choosing the D5500 because it was the better deal. It came with the two lens kit for 599 so i had to

Should've got the same lens bundle with the D3300.

How come?
>>3077467
Refurbished D7100 > any D5xxx
>>3082353
Because it is the better value. D5xxx might have more AF points but the accuracy is the same as the D3xxx. Same featureset and same controls.
If you want something better than the D3xxx you should look for the D7100/7200. The D5xxx is a consumers trap with only marginal upgrade at best.
Still you bought it, so try and use it as fully as you can and upgrade to D7100/7200 as soon as you can.

Ive been using it for almost a day and im already satisfied. Takes wonderful star pictures. And can slightly see the milky way. Im sure if its in RAW i can make it stand out more in post
as soon as you buy a camera it begins losing it's value, the newer it is the faster it loses value
invest on Prime lenses, a good prime lenses will retain most of it's value in 5 years or 10 years, or in full frame glass if you one day want to make the jump into FF
don't buy bodies with 1 generation difference, id recommend at least 2-3 steps

Fucking this.

So now you have not one but two shitty kit lenses, congrats.
As suggested you should have just gotten a second hand D7100 and 35mm DX.
Don't make new threads when you're just going to ignore the good advice.
