Nope. the 1.4 version is way better.

The rangefinder will be pretty much useless unless you open the top cover and clean it(you can use the black tape method to help focusing if you can't disassemble it). The meter doesn't work because there's no more mercury battery, you can use normal batteries but you have to adjust the iso to compensate for that.

Actually, isn't only rangefinders I collect yashica cameras in general. I have 5 rangefinders, 2 TLRs and several point and shoot.

Actually I believe the cuntaxi used the yashica mount, and that the cameras are mostly just a branding exercise over the top of yashica designs.
From those I've handled, pre-plastic Contax SLRs are really no different to their equivalent Yashica.
It's only the Aria/AX/RTS3 era ones that really stand out.
