these are largely fine in a technical sense, by the way; i don't think you are going to "waste film" in that sense.

The 7D2, far from perfect, but with plenty of patience and enough time out in the wild with it, can be a very effective camera.
It has taken me a few years to really come to appreciate all that it has to offer since the time I first purchased it at it's release to now. I shoot this alongside a 1DX2, and it sometimes pleasantly surprises me and occasionally will give me something the 1DX2 could not with respect to sports, wildlife and macrophotography.
It leaves much to be desired when it comes to landscape though. Not so good at processing colors in the sky as the 5D or 1D line.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with it and when this camera is paired with the best lenses, it can give you some of the best results. This camera has it's own specific job expertise within the family of canon cameras.

Well I appreciate the critique but not sure I am seeing what's blurry about it unless it's because of image compression and sizing it down to 1000x667.
This is with an older 100-400mm but I have since gotten the newer one which has much better sharpness. I also shoot with a 600mm so I can still vouch for the capabilities of the 7D2 to hold up with top lenses.

Ah so there isn't anything technically wrong with the photos just they aren't artistic?
On looking at the Benz shot further I think it would be better if the more rearward headlight was also in focus. So more narrow aperture could have helped maybe. It's so hard to judge focus for the whole image with the dinky viewfinder or lcd. I feel like I should just shoot every photo at multiple aperture settings and then pick one I like when I get them on my pc.

here is the full original made smaller, no crops or tinkering with contrast of any kind.
I was half an hour late as the sun and sky was 10x more epic and red 30 minutes earlier when i was walking to the store. There was basically no light left when i took that photo.
It looks like it might be a similar sunset tonight, so i'm looking to take the same pic only not as shitty. I'll try a bigger aperture and hopefully get more details. that pic I think was 1.8(manual so not sure), 1/15, 200iso. Going lower than 1/15 with my shaky hands probably isn't possible.

Recent photos from a stroll looking for some cats to fill pages in acat zine I'm working on (just because I've got a ton of stray cat photos and I'm enjoying taking photos of them). I'll post some recents then a couple better ones that are spreads/better images in the zine.
Either going to be printed 60mm x 60mm (just to get 2up on my A4 printer) or 100mm x 100mm if they look too small - obviously going to be cropped to square. Printed b&w to save costs (will probably sell each one for a couple quid).
