Found a small box of slides from 1955 on my latest antique shop run. I scanned them, and thought I'd share some of the results.
Starting with a shot from the 50's army service. This stuff is pretty rare to come by, as you'd imagine few servicemen in the 50's Finland could afford anything other than a box camera.
You'll never look as dank as the cine guy here.
Next up are some photos from the guy's vacation to Bangkok, before the time Thailand turned into a disgusting tourist hellhole.
Lastly some kickboxan.
The King's Gate at the Suomenlinna fortress.
Another shot from Suomenlinna.
Wherever the fuck this is, looks like the cabinets are housing record players.
Dem glasses.
Sawn timber shipment, I would assume this is either in Pori or Loviisa.
Another army shot. Back when I served some 50 years later we had the exact same type of bunks, the same cross patterned blue-white sheets, and the cramped wooden equipment lockers.
Lastly, bible written in archaic Finnish (Epistle to the Romans) and an oil lamp. The rest of the box was nature landscape shots that are pretty but not that interesting in the historical sense.
Feel free to share similar finds.

you mean when westerners still regularly had sex with 10 year old?
nice thread OP, keep posting
maybe the guy was from the Army?
Would like to see the landscape shots too
How do you scan? The quality seems pretty prefessional

Possibly. No way to track down who took these photos unfortunately.

Here's one, they're the usual sunset stuff, nothing to pay much attention to.
