Try to see mundane things as something else. Treat "dead" objects like living for a while. Make a portrait out of a rock. Or a shroom. Even if the results might look like snapshits and someone says it's trash, you have at least changed perspectives for a bit.

I fucking love shooting stuff innawoods. The single thing I've learned is that it's bloody hard to separate a subject without doing the wide open depth-of-field cliche. Try to remove everything that's not part of your composition.

As an example, this picture is near focused (the ground is angled up and away) so that many of the pine needles aren't in focus, and the sides are distracting. The roots have a pleasing shape which in combination of the needles that are in focus made this the sole keeper of its roll. (posted previously in either a RPT or a /fgt/.)

I was asking about photos of forests. I get that people are trying to be helpful but what I'm seeing is a) photos with subjects that aren't "forest" and b) photos that aren't any good.

boring subject desu and the light sucks too but that is not your fault. wait for evening light and maybe pack some aluminium foil or whatever to light up your plants.

Finding something worth shooting isn't easy. I self impose odd rules or make a game of it, k owing the images will be bin-worthy 99% of the time if you just take a stroll in the woods.
