Hey /p/holks,
I'm a Canon user and I'm looking for a wide angle lens for astro/landscape photography. I would prefer to go full frame capable as I want to transition from apsc eventually and weather proof is always nice. I am just finding that there are too many options to narrow down. Thanks!

Story checks out.
Irix 11mm

Laowa 12mm f2.8

That's very funny, thank you for your feedback.
For a wide angle lens is it more practical to have just manual focus? It would most likely take money off the cost...
Where ya from, OP?
>>3062028
Canon 11-24
yeah it's f4 but these days with how high you can push the ISO the 11mm is more important

Tokina 16-28/f2.8
I have the DX version (11-20) and it works really well.

I am in a similar position now OP, looking for a wide astro lens.
You might find this useful, a bunch of wide angle lenses tested and compared. Unfortunately, no clear winner (although to me rokinon 14mm 2.8 looks like the best option).

made me kek
>>3062151
Dunno if the processing or the lens itself makes this such a shitty photo.
>>3062028
Just go balls out and get this.

OP might as well throw his money out the window if he wants to buy a Sigma fART

sony a7r2 + smegma 20mm 1.4 with mc11 adapter.
>>3062360
Confirmed for zero coma. I'm in.
>>3062394
>buying adapter bullshit
Just get a d810 and 14-24 instead.
>>3062350
What is wrong with it?
>>3062410
Which sigma lens has zero coma??

I use this lens for my astro shots
I got it for the aperture, but the vignetting is insane at f/1.4, I have to bring it down to 2.8 before it's manageable. Other than that, so far I love the lens.

I see it too, my take is it's a lazy edit. You amplify the whites and clarity, and pull back the highlights creates a weird aberration on the edges of the trees and horizon near the landscape. It's that fuzzy white bright glow, you also need to be aware the landscape is important too when taking these shots, if you do a global adjustment of the stars it's also going to affect the foreground. It's fine if you don't care, but other people will chew it apart, you need local adjustments if you want to fix that. I did the same when I started practicing astrophotography with my edits.

Rokinon 20mm 1.8 or 14mm 2.8
>>3062604
The new 1. I've seen the corner crops.
>>3063223
What is the focal length of the new one? Is it full frame capable?
>>3063133
Just take some flat frames before or after, a white shirt and a flashlight will do. Combine in DSS and you have the f/1.4 image without vignetting.

Irix 11mm is better, just saying.
what about a 24 - 70? at 2.8 that would give a fairly broad bottom line while still giving the reach of 70mm. inb4 attacks on my lifestyle choices.

This is terrible advice.
