Hired a photographer to shoot an event and the photographer delivered shitty pictures but still wanted to get paid.
pic related.
as said, event photographers are literal bottom of the barrel tier. you shouldnt pay him, hes shit and delivered shit.
That grotesque font they used in their watermark should have been the first clue that they were worthless. It's your fault for even hiring them.
What I have to ask is.
Was this a Craigslist shooter, that you wanted to do the gig for cheap?
Did you look at their portfolio if they had one?
Post more of the bad pictures please, we need some humor on this board besides Sugar's threads

riojastudie dot jimdo dot com
>>3055876
From a technical standpoint his shots are fine, he seems to lack any real artistic vision though, and there's a few portfolio and graphic design rules I think he should reflect on.
The main one that comes to mind is the whole 'less is more thing'
>>3055876
He's got quite a few really good shots (I really dig that last boudoir photo) mixed in with a lot of mediocre photos. His landscapes portfolio is especially messy. Most of those photos would be considered street photography and/or urban landscapes. Also sports isn't his strong suite, either, but he does have some decent shots there as well.
If he'd delete all the crap, his site would be so much better.
>>3052779

>>3055932
as far as getting paid goes, networking, marketing and footwork are more important than actually being able to take good photos

At first I kinda felt bad for the guy - I've had gigs (mostly unpaid/voluntary) where /everything had gone wrong, especially with the grain and slow shutter speed to try and cope, but wew.
Feel bad for people investing their time and money in him - clearly it's not a learning experience for him because he's branding it 'professional' and showing it off. Maybe if he was acknowledging it's not great and doing more stuff to learn I'd have more sympathy.

ACTCHUALLY
The straight definition for a professional is to "profess" if he does anything else than talking he is not a professional. If people reach him for a particular product, then he is not professing, he is creating, manufacturing, etc. Of course professionalism is associated to some traits, that you might have even if you are not a professional. Like responsibility for example.
Now if we go for the meme definition of professional (earning money for your job) he isnt a professional anyways, since it needs 50% of your monthly income to come from photographs to be called semipro and at least 75% to be a pro.

I would have moved a bit to the right to the boat wasn't poking him in the back, opened the aperture to soften the background, thenbring up the shutter speed to darken everything. If that makes the subject too dark then I would use a flash.

>>3060363

>>3068411
And I have no idea why you share that picture online and put your watermark on it becasue its not even a good nor a funny picture.
>>3070630

How much does it cost to have a website made. I'm gonna quit my job and become a pro.
>>3052967
"I'm not really sure what to do with my hands?"
>>3074480
You need a website. With wix, you can do it on your own.
This thread is proof that we're all gonna make it, /p/.
bumping for lord sarnehed
This is the /p/ I like to see; all of us no matter how good or bad we are, laughing at the mediocrity that are normies who can't take a decent photo and pass themselves off as "pros" and end up getting some of the most kek-worthy shots that they eventually pass off as being serious.
Fucking love it.
>>3059997
Are you Sarnehed?
>>3052195
I love craigslist photographers. best of the best. like this guy: https://vermont.craigslist.org/crs/6111330757.html

this thread is brilliant.
also the guy has quite the skill to get that super realistic in your face uglyness. i did clubs for a while and even in times when i was bored and just pointed the camera and sprayed without even looking, i never got photos like that.
>>3074428
This man has gone from object of mockery on /p/ to being admired for all its persistent misery on /p/, and all it took was dogged consistency of style, however terrible it may be.
>>3077642
Strangely this looks very Heavy Metal. The comics series.
>>3052181
you hired him, your fault for not doing the research
>>3077657
>>3078208
Hahah this is getting better (worse)
>>3078210
it sure is
it's kind of amazing how he can turn any event/group of people into something that looks like a tim and eric sketch
>>3078261
it's like someone pays him to make people look ugly.
>>3062179
Does he have glaucoma?
>>3062195
>he is a normal, rational person.
normal rational people don't go into professional photography with zero skill, anon
>>3078221
why would someone even put their watermark on this?
>>3079892
That question applies to literally every photo ITT
>>3052347

Good luck with that.
>>3052319
One on top of page is ok but holy fuck the one on the bottom lol
If he makes a consistent style out of this he may be up for something. In a world where event photography has a standarized look and everything tries to look unrealisticaly perfect and happy, these kind of photos have more of a documentary value
Is this a fucking joke? None of his shit is even in focus lmao

Do true.
A good salesman will sell regardless of what the product is. To run a business you need to sell. That's why the artisans I know suck at their businesses. Some create fabulous products but can't sell for shit. Ergo, shit business.
This is equally true in the photography biz. The customers of that swede's aren't hanging on some obscure Korean image board full of fuck ups and retards.
