I mean you can do anything..
Easily? Still life shots at home especially of your cat.
But you need to understand that photos are meant to be shared and seen by others and as someone who has taken plenty of pictures of my pets I can tell you safely that no one gives a shit about your pets.
People like pictures of other people. They want to see other people who are attractive, or working, or fighting or doing literally anything. So get out there and start taking candid shots of people.
pretty girl pictures is about the easiest possible genre if you have the social skills. stick any 18-22 year old girl in front of your camera and within six months you'll have 3000 instagram followers and people dying to know what kind of camera and lens you use (even if it's the most basic possible shit; people get confused by their own boners).
If you don't have social skills, architectural photography is an easy way to piggyback off the hard work and design choices of others, and it seems to impress stupid people.

stret photography you can pretty much pass all your throwaways as "organic" and art students will fall for it
Probably cosplay photography, those people would trip over themselves to get in front of a DSLR. However, you should photograph what you're interested in.
Street photography, who needs to be able to take interesting pictures when you can just hit the black and white button in Lightroom
