Interesting Photographers to study, I have to do an assignment analysing two photogs work, one being contemporary and one being historical (before 1970) pinholes and shit. Any suggestions will be appreciated, I’ll be dumping some photos maybe meanwhile.
pinhole photos, specifically?

I think that Abelardo Morell's work with camera obscura setups is really interesting and unique, not sure if that counts or not.

Doesn't have to be pinhole but thats what we have been studying so it would be Preferred

>one being contemporary and one being historical (before 1970) pinholes and shit
Are you working with the assumption that before 1970 everyone used pinhole cameras?

Ansel Adams

yeah, well, that would not be a "historical photographer" more a contemporary one. /p/ showing its pathetic lack of knowledge once again.
Lets do this easy mode and lets stick to magnum:
Contemporary: Jacob Aue Sobol, Martin Parr, Chien Chi Chang
""""""Historical"""""": Robert capa, Herbert List, Rene Burri

No, but thats the aspect of that era that we are studying

Thanks, that helps heaps.
Edward Weston falls into the historical category and had a pretty interesting life.
tl:dr; don't bang your models and then ask them to be your wife while you travel around the continent and shoot.
Might want to have a look at Dorothea Lange, Margaret Bourke-White, Ansel Adams and the rest of the people in Group f/64 (Lange wasn't in it) also if you want to REALLY go way back into prehistoric time in the photography realm, look up Matthew Brady, who was known for his ambrotypes shot during the Civil War.

I didnt want cavemen.
Thanks, suggestions helped :)
