Why does digital seem to have such a problem with rendering highlights? Especially in night scenes?

Because of the very limited dynamic range. Many such cases, Sad!

there is no camera a fag like you could afford which could do night + neon light at the same time, so go play in traffic.

Doesn't digital actually have a better dynamic range than film?
>>3041693
OP pic seems to differ.

Probably not, but with digital to get the most dynamic range you under expose/expose for the highlights and bring up the shadows in post, but this causes a lot of noise. But with film you expose for the shadows as you can over expose the highlights a lot. And then you could do some developing to bring down the highlights.
So even if they had the same dynamic range, their range is in a different location so thats why one might have more dynamic range than the other

Nicely explained for someone that doesn't know what he's talking about typing to someone else with no clue either.

>their range is in a different location
lol what?
You're completely wrong anyways.
