It's only worth it if you need huge buffer, fast bursts and telephoto reach that's "built in". Unless you need those things, a D750 or even secondhand D810 make more sense for the same price as a D500. That isn't to say the D500 is a "bad" camera, but seriously, it IS a $2000 crop sensor camera.

mainly because focal lengths become retarded when you use apsc, also would prefer better low light and better depth of field is an added bonus
