Hi /p/
Photographer clothing thread? I've heard you professionals are supposed to wear black and stay out of the way, but the guy on the right isn't. Is there some photographer's attire code?

It's a "sperg doesn't understand what formal wear looks like because he doesn't go outside" episode.

He is dressed the same as everyone else.
This is what photographers should dress like

Don't get me wrong, i know he's wearing formal attire. I just wanted to know if there was a set color scheme/level of formal-ness that professional photographers usually stick to, or if they're both dependent upon the event.

There is absolutely no photog code, just common sense and personal preference. Like probably a good idea to not wear t-shirt and jeans to a wedding
this is what peak performance looks like

The absolute madman!
Honestly the best photographer I know wears a formal outfit just like anyone else. Helps him sneak though people and get intimate shots of the ceremony.

The best photography clothes are the ones you're wearing right now

Desis!
Usually a pair of black dress trousers and a dark shirt or T-shirt. A pair of good boots and a leather jacket this time of year.
I see people wearing nice trousers and shirts with sneakers and it looks like this to me. Don't understand why they'd bother with a shirt if they're going to wear that kind of casual footwear.
Really, though. Just wear something that is whole and clean not "edgy" (i.e. Guy Fiery shirts) and it'll be fine. If you're shooting an event you dress the same as the people attending. Don't show up in jeans and T-shirt for a wedding even though that would be fine for a child's birthday party etc.
I don't understand why anyone would need to ask about this at all.
