Anyone own a Canon Powershot camera?
Is there an option for shooting on a sunny day? So that there isn't too much "sun light" which ruins the photo?
I have no clue how to use this thing.
PS: Just bought it because I honestly don't care about fine photography .. but need a camera with some zoom.

Do people always have to buy cheap trash? It's just depressing.

Auto. Ultimately it should pick a narrower aperture and faster shutter at base ISO.
If it *appears* to be too stupid to do that, check if you haven't picked a strange metering mode or changed some exposure compensation setting or yanked ISO up to 6400 or something.
If it's *really* just too stupid to get its settings right, I guess you get to pick shutter speed and/or aperture yourself.
Also, use a lens hood, most of these cameras are sporting pretty shitty lenses that don't resist flaring at all.

I hope you care only this little then...

Follow these for the most part, use a low ISO and increase your shutter speed/stop down.
If that's still too much for digital to handle, buy yourself an ND filter to block some of the light.

I feel so fucking nauseous when I see a bridge camera sitting around some rube's neck.
I mean I would forgive you 10 years ago, but today phone cameras are so good, that bridge cameras are irrelevant.
make a home made lens hood it prevents stray light from jamming up your focus & giving you bad shots
also see Canon CHDK it's a mod you put on your memory card and adds 20+ features found only on expensive DSLR's such as shooting in RAW as well as time lapse video. And a few other features you won't find that come stock on any camera. -it's a 100% safe. Everytime you poweroff your PowerShot it goes back to factory default.

The photo on the left gives it a sense of scale and reminds me that despite wanting to travel to space I'll never walk on the moon.
The photo on the right is some nerd shit.
