Hey, /p/.
I just got into photography again and finally saved up and got my first camera. I took a try at it before but lost confidence because I don't know any of the technical terms and functions and I'm really just winging it.
I'd like to think that I'm not too bad but I think I could do a lot better if I knew the theory behind the practice so I know what I'm actually doing when I use my camera.
Does anyone have a quick crash course on all the basics I should know and resources to learn more about them?
Here's some recent pictures I took to warm up and learn my way around my new camera.

This is my least favorite, it was an attempt at HDR using bracketed exposure with a shaky Chinese pos tripod. And the compression is shit because I pulled them off messages I sent because I'm not at my computer to compress them to post on here.

Winging it is fine, watch a tutorial on your camera model to learn things. Take lots of pictures until you know what you're doing. I started out taking terrible pictures and it wasn't until a couple months later I was happy with my shooting.

Learn about about the exposure triangle and the rule of thirds. Congratulations you are now more competent at photography than 99% of people in the world.

I know the rule of thirds from filming class in highschool and I understand a little bit about exposure and how to control it with ISO and shutter speed. Right now I find myself at a very basic understanding seeing as I don't know anything about focal length, what the numbers for lenses mean, how to read a histogram or if it's even useful, etc. Though I'm aware enough that it makes me cringe when I see people use a camera capable of taking good photos on full auto with shit framing and composition or when people think they need a hard flash for every picture they take.
Dude just have fun with it and dont stop taking pictures, and start learning aboit photography little by little.
None of us where good when we first picked up the camera too and for sure most of us are still not that good but we keep trying and thats what matters.
