What are your rules on the thought of thirds?

1. Dislike it
2. Try to like it

the only rule of thirds I know is
>don't ever buy 4 of them
The rule of third is the easiest way to get new photographers thinking about composition. There's nothing inherently special about the rule of thirds. You could easily have the rule of quarters or fifths or sevenths, it's just that the rule of thirds is literally the very first division of the frame that doesn't put stuff dead smack in the center of the frame.
Once you've learned a little more about frame placement, the rule of thirds becomes the least important thing in composition.

It's the best shit since sliced bread. Use it, and even the most boring snapshit looks at least nice and pleasing to the eyes.
>>3012661
Dam son
it's literally meaningless
if you just shoot random snapshit, you'll hit it without even trying
good for beginners though to start getting their mind used to how composition works

Suggestion of thirds.

I Mean, If You Want To... of Thirds

It's a cancer meme for beginners and autists to feel as though they understand composition
quarters is better
>>3012604
It's a simple way to balance compositions. When I adjust the crop on my photos I usually adhere to it in some form because it just looks better on my eyes.
It's can be good and bad
It's something to keep in mind but not to explicitly follow.

It's handy but far from the end all be all of composition.
It's a tool like everything else. Sometimes the tool fits the situation, sometimes it doesn't.
