90s point and shoots are not antique
>>3006917
well if he wants to be a lomo hipster he might as well pay 79 cents instead of 79 dollars I guess
I recenty found a cheap LC-A at a good sammys. Seems there are a few versions. Russian and chinese. How can i tell which version i have?.
>Leica M6 popped up on Shogoodwill last night
>Started at $5
>Already at $860
>Six days left
Motherfuckers need to learn how to bid. I bet the thing is going to got for like $3k.
>>3006989
If it says ЛOMO instead of LOMO, it's probably an early model actually made by Lomo in St. petersburg and not by Lomography in China. It also helps to check the region of manufacture because it could have the Cyrillic script and still be made in China, or it could have Latin script and say "Made in USSR/Russia" which would mean it's an export model. Either way, if it's cheap you can always just cop it to flip and rip off some stupid Lomographer.
>>3006917
They are thrift finds dumbass.
>>3006917
He meant thrift store and antique store finds, retard.
good day today..
half shot roll of "FCA TRIPLE PRINT" 620 in the hawkeye (supposedly a c-22 film?).. i shot the rest and imma just xpro it in bw and see if anything comes out.
and making a new baffles for the seneca folder will be a fun project.

What even qualifies as antique? Anything before the 1970s?
>>3011635
For cars, to get antique plates it needs to be 25 years old...so that's what I base it off.
Don't really see the point in buying landfill fodder, it's more likely that you'll win 3 lotteries in a row and OPs mom will suck your dick before you find a Leica or anything of value.
>>3011581
Most of these cameras are junk, I'm a bit autistic so collecting crap for the sake of it triggers me...
>>3011642

yep
Halina Super Eight
Really no intention of using it, but it looks neat.
Tape is because the down-arrow decal fell off,; so I won't lose before I get around to gluing it back on.
I found a yashica t3 the other day at value village. It was pricy and a bit beat for the thrift store at $70 canadian but they're going for 100+ on ebay so I think i got a good deal on it. Pretty stoked to use it, upgrading from a pentax pc35af that was $7 :^)
testing a roll of superia 400 in it right now

for $10 I'd say its worth it, I really like the 50/2, and the J seems to work fine, though I haven't ran any film through it.

Enjoy your Terry tax
>>3015290
terry richardson shoots with a t4 therefor making these cameras insanely overpriced. i got my t4s for free so i cant complain=]]
>>3015290
>>3015402
The worst part is that the T4, and other members of the Yashica T lineup, aren't anything phenomenal. They're plastic point and shoots that happen to have a 35mm 2.8/3.5 that's a bit sharper than other compacts in its category. Like you could get a Pentax, Ricoh, Olympus, etc and you could to the exact same stuff Uncle Terry does.
It should cost $50 max but people get the idea that it's some gift from god because of the Zeiss and because Terry blessed it. He could have done his s Terry's World stuff with an L35AF and people would gladly pay $100 for them.
Found this the other day, what should i pay for it?

How do you like Chaika? I want to get my hands on some cheap half frame at some point.
picked it up yesterday ran a roll of ektar through it to develop today
I guess folks in New Orleans don't get rid of their good cameras. 5 thrift shops yesterday and found nothing but old digital point n shoots.
Got a mju:II for 2.5€. Seems to work fine, first roll of tmax 400 is almost done. I like it a lot!

It was a local flea market. I've found a lot of good value photo gear over the years in flea markets and thrift stores, but recently people have been over pricing their stuff.
5€, works great. No idea how good the lens is but it has some nice features. Waist level finder and an IR remote.

I'm a bit wary of buying cameras of ebay, because most are either questionable condition or overpriced af, but I guess 90s compacts are a safer bet than vintage SLRs. I'll check out the mju.
>>3016945
I buy from eBay all the time. The worst experience I had was buying an old slr that was advertised in good working condition and when I got it it was locking up. I requested a return from the seller and he just refunded me and told me to keep it.
Protip: sniping can help you get real good deals
>>3016268
go to red white and blue thrift store on jefferson hwy, they regularly refresh the cameras they have available. i've gotten a couple mjus, an olympus xa, a couple vivitar ultra wide and slims... don't bother with the red white and blue location on the west bank btw, they're garbage and they have no selection at all. but the one on jefferson is great.
>>3017014
Went full meme drive by shooting with it while biking back home from campus to get the roll filled in a hurry. Aside from being slippery plastic I like the big fat shutter button and the ergonomics, easy to shoot on the move with gloves on. The IR remote is a nice feature and the bottom plate has a small tilting knob that tilts the camera slightly upwards when placed on a table, so you don't necessarily need a tripod when positioning it for selfies and such. Tried it when we had a group presentation, placed it ready and used the remote to take shots of us during the presentation. I'd like to say stealthily, but this thing is loud as fuck. Will dev the roll tomorrow to see how it turned out, I just hope the AF and exposure logic are in working order.
>>3006921
I came here to call OP a retard but you know... you've got a point.
Anything cool here? I got them for $12
>>3017054
nope
>>3017054
they are all pieces of shit. give them to your cousins or something.
>>3017014
Yashica T4 has it too.
>>3017054
Top left, looks like some crappy digital, toy-ish camera.
Middle left, curious to see more, but not holding high hopes.
Bottom left, best hopes for actual use, but nothing special to my knowledge.
Bottom right, does anyone still make/develop APS film? I usually pass up APS cameras, though I do come across a few with cool designs.
Middle right, not Mickey Mouse.
>>3017300
Zenit 12sd
>>3017295
I doubt drugstores still do it, but a dedicated camera store probably will.
Central Camera here in Chicago still develops, scans, and prints APS. I guess it's because a lot of people still have old APS negatives they want backed up.
>>3017151
Seems like a couple of the Ts have them. Pretty neato, but holy fuck is that impractical.
>>3016550
I took some naughty pictures of a girlfriend with one of those bad boys!
Found one of these goofy lil things today for 99¢, does anyone know what ISO film I'm supposed to load this with?
>>3018664
How about you fucking google it?
>>3018664
>what ISO film I'm supposed to load this with
Have you never owned a film camera before?
>>3018677
I meant to ask "what film SHOULD I load this with," I was only curious because it sounded like a lot of these early 90s point n shoots worked best with one ISO despite the instructions saying you can use several different kinds.
>>3018680
Fixed aperture and shutter speed = only works well with a limited range of ISOs or one ISO only, fuck off
>>3018685
fairly slow shutter speeds so 100 or 200 iso film will be fine.
>>3018677
86kb - what the fuck
>>3017014
Developed the roll, unfortunately the lens is pretty disappointing. Edge blurring at any aperture that reminds me of Contax T2. Autofocus and exposure logic are dependable, it doesn't get fooled by high contrast situations. The lens and its big ass size rule it out for a sidearm camera for me, though. Same as with the T2, but I won't get easy money for selling it.
>>3017323
Given the camera's features geared for selfies, I think it's intended to be used for aiming the thing when placed on a table or other such low surface.
>>3017300
they are fun cameras but Ive heard that the non export cameras, like this one, usually had a lower quality control if any. In any case the bodies are so cheap that you can get another one. Great lens as well
Just got this for 20 bucks

do you make your own film too? there's like one option for new 127 film unless you wanna slice up some 120.

shopgoodwill is literally never worth it. I've lurked it for years and people will spend more on there than on ebay because aforementioned not knowing anything about bidding.
>>3018951
Yea ezoxcorp is the only place that makes 127 film. Aside that I slice up 120 film.
Wow the film is pretty good for it being more than 50 years old.
I have one from 1958 with an iso of 100
Have some doubt about the result but if yours looks that good, I then give it a shot.
>>3019029
I've gotten some decent stuff from them, like a Dell U2414H for $45, but the good stuff is getting farther and farther in between.
I've some cheap cameras, and even some things like Hasselblads go for under eBay prices, but generally yeah it's a bunch of retards paying double that the going rate.
>>3018726
That image definitely needs a whole meg
>>3019044
>Wow the film is pretty good for it being more than 50 years old.
>I have one from 1958 with an iso of 100
mine was originally 100/125. i'm rating it about 15 iso.
>tfw you find cool stuff for cheap but it's actually useless because the fungus claimed it.

Fungus isn't a death sentence. If it's worth using then it's worth paying to have it CLA'd.
>>3019188
>Fungus isn't a death sentence
It is when it's caked in on a 30 year old lens.
Can't post a pic, but here's a list of what I've picked up at Goodwill/garage sales over the years:
Olympus OM-2n with 50mm 1.8, 28mm 3.5 ($20)
Canon A-1 with 50 1.4, thrown out as nonworking (free)
Nikon AF600 ($12)
Beseler Topcon Super D with several rare lenses ($30)
Nikon FE2 w/ 105mm 2.5, 50mm 1.8, 28 2.8 ($100, really regret selling this)
Black Paint Nikon F Photomic "Apollo" version ($125)
Mint Yashica-12 for $20 at Goodwill
Most recently, Olympus Mju II limited edition ($5)
Plus a bunch of crappy lesser stuff (nikon af kit lenses etc) that I've flipped on eBay. Also have just missed a Leica M3 with an old summicron and several other lenses for $600, and a Hasselblad 503ELX for $300. This was over the course of about six years, but garage sales and Craigslist are where it's at, friends.
