Bought this at BestBuy open box for $499. It's an RX100 IV.

>Zeiss for $500
Sure you did, pal
I'm pooping too.
That's a really good camera, usually they cost more than that. I honestly have no idea what version they're on now but every version since the evf has be just ridiculously nice for a point n shit
They're about $675 used on amazon, so you did pretty good.
It'll make for a good everyday pocket camera.

Not pooping anymore. :(
The EVF is really nice though. I used to so landscape stuff a few years ago with a Sony A65 and a bunch of junky Minolta lenses. Had to sell everything to pay rent last year. So maybe I'll get back into now.

You'll probably like it. Sony cameras have a bit of a printer menu (Although not as bad as Panasonic), and the EVF will lag under 1/60 with it being headache inducing under 1/30, but it'll still serve you well.
Not to mention you could probably turn a profit if you didn't like it.

jelly of the new camera. shit price though, regardless... make the best of it

The RX100 IV is the best pocket size camera right now. Cheaper than MOAR SPEED MOAR FPS MOAR 4K RX100 V. What's funny is it's in a very uncrowded market. if you go a little bit bigger into jacket-pocket size you have to compete with the LX100, Sigma's compacts if those are your thing, Sony's Alpha MILCs, Small fujis and so on. But the RX100 is literally perfect at its size.
At 24mm, the RX100 IV is about f/4 wide open which is sweeet for a camera so small and it resolves awesomely.

>f/11 is sweeet
This is what Sonyfags believe
>>3000617
...no, it's f/1.8 wide open, I was giving the equivalent aperture.
>>3000620
Oh, now it makes sense
Still I wouldn't call f/4 sweet. I have one f/4 zoom on my DSLR, not exactly spectacular. No real separation on portraits even on the long end wide open.
>>3000622
f/4 on something that both is a zoom, is pretty frikken sharp wide open, and fits in your front pocket. Come on that's pretty fantastic.
>>3000622
It really isn't anything special, but it's pretty uncommon for a compact camera. Most are like somewhere between f2.8 and f5.6.
>>3000625
I still wouldn't call it a fantastic setup, It can do well on landscapes, not very good but kind of usable but anything remotely different subject will suffer. Anything aside from landscapes will be no different from a phone shot.
>>3000629
>Anything aside from landscapes will be no different from a phone shot.
Lolno. If you can't tell the difference between even the worst 1 inch compact and a camera phone you need your eyes checked.
>>3000634
I'm sorry, I forgot that all compacts suffer from atrocious CA from their cheap shitty zoom lens.
Of course there are differences, phones have prime lenses so they have less CA.
>>3000629
I'm not even a sonyfag, i'm a sigmafag, I've never used a sony. I'm just very impressed by the specs, and it seems much sharper across the focal length spectrum compared to competing cameras.
Also the pop up 1024x768 viewfinder is pretty special.
