Hey /p/ I got some christmas cash and was thinking about buying my first dslr.

Should I get a Canon t6, nikon d3400, sony a600, or something else?

I want to make yt videos and take pictures. Thank.

go analog

Look at lens lineups and the associated prices to decide which body you want.

Bear in mind a mirrorless camera will allow you to use pretty much any lens of any mount. If buying a body is going to take away the bulk of your cash, I'd suggest going mirrorless. That way buying lenses won't be that financially troubling, since older manual focus lenses of abandoned mounts are substantially cheaper than their Nikon F-mount or Canon EF mount equivalents.

Not OP but;
Only have $425 AUD and am looking into some decent DSLRs for film making. I've done a fair bit of film making in the past with Canon EOS 100Ds.

But in truth, I'm not sure what to look for when it comes to DSLRs for film making.

If there are no suggestions for DSLRs, are there any pointers as to what to look for in a DSLR for footage?

I love you /p/

A6000,
An evf is much better for beginners as it will show exactly what your exposure will be, as opposed to just looking through a window and hoping your camera is doing as you expect it to.

Also it's much smaller, so you will be less tempted to leave it at home, and the other options are horse shit for video.

Get 2xEOS M's, A and B cams, install magic lantern, manual focus 28 and 50mm's on adapters.
>oh and get 800 batteries too

Ye right buy a external HDMI blackmagic monitor too while at it
>>
>>2990653
A perfectly reasonable recorder can be had for £50, this should fall under anyones budget.

Unless you're really, really poor.
>>
>>2990657
Still way more expensive than a lavalier microphone for the same audio quality.
If your budget is less than 500 then 50 is by definition a lot.
>>
>>2990622
Or you could just use live view on the dslr's if you want to know what the pic will look like.
>>
>>2990671
or just don't be a faggot and learn how to expose correctly.
