They'll probably have a different type of card by then, but we probably arent too far off. In 2000 (16 years ago) the sd card was first introduced and was 64mb. The largest one now is 512gb. It's just slightly ahead of Moores law. At an exponential rate, we should have SD cards that are 128tb in just 8 years. However, that's assuming that another media wont replace it in the mean time

Possibly. However, camera data rates usually keep up with the available media. So, in 8 years, 128tb wont see too absurd, and we will still be running out of space on that card. Wireless will never be as fast as writing onto solid state media, so it might be possible, but we will probably be running into data stream issues even if its insanely fast. For lower range cameras shooting plainjane 4k, they might be able to do it no problem. But if in 8 years the standard is RAW 6k footage, writing at 20gb/s might have some problems.

I remember seeing a tb drive for the first time. It was THAT shocking that a tb was even needed. I thought that you could NEVER fill that thing up. But now, I go through terabyte drives every month doing video. The media and cameras keep up with eachother
