Going to pull the trigger. It's my first DSLR, and figured now would be a good time to pick up photography. Is there anything I should be wary of?

The D3300 is a great camera for beginners or if you're on a budget. Definitely get it refurbished (Make sure it's a trustworthy source though, not grey-market.) A good refurb 3300 should run you about $450-500.
Basic rules of DSLRs are not to use the presets (Use M, A, S, or P, or auto if you are desperate. P is easy to use), and learn when to tweak your aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

That wifi adapter solution sucks. And you might want to buy a higher-end camera if you buy Nikon. It's Nikon's plan to make you do that anyhow, and they succeed very often.

An a6000 and speedbooster that doesn't suck dick costs as much as an a7.
What a dumb suggestion.
Especially as even the best speedboosters massively degrade iq.

Where can you get an a7 for $800?

God damn, I gotta get one then.

Not new, but in very good condition, it has been down at 799 with rebates though from standard retailers.

I have had terrible experiences with Keh used products.
I will keep na eye out for it on sale. $800 is an awesome price.
