Hey /b/
I've been wanting to offer local photography services, primarily animal portraits. Will you guys tell me what you think/how I can improve and what I'm doing wrong. These are mostly of my own dog.
Also, I'm wondering, do I charge people by the hour or by the photo? And what's an outrages amount to expect for such a service?
Thanks in advance.

Put your watermark in the middle so people don't just crop it out
Personally I'd charge by the hour, you never know when you'll get a shitty animal that's impossible to take a good snap of
Get a job, you fucking retard.
Nice shots OP
I'd charge by the session, with the expectation of providing a portfolio of X number of shots. Depends how long it takes to get 'the shot' for each setup you want. Your word of mouth will be garbage if you charge them for 2 hours and dont get a single good shot because of a troublesome subject. Might have to bite the bullet on those ones.

First of all, great shots, I think you should charge a pretty low amount per hour or whatever and let the buyer choose which ones they would like to buy. Also, do you mind if I ask what dslr you use?
>>2984006
I'm going to use my mind reading devices. I'm getting an S... yes a Sony. And look at that picture quality - classic ILCE-7.
Must be the Sony ILCE-7.

Looks pretty good m8.
Just use a flash next time and that's a solid 9/10.
With doggos and other portraits in general you really need those catchlights in the eyes
Thank you all for the kind words and advice. Any recommendations on a not-to-expensive flash? I don't own any.
Also, yes these were shot with a Sony A7 with a 50mm Prime.

Smart. I'll have to spend some time going through all my photos to get that done.

That makes sense. Thank you.

Thank you!
This dog in particular is a 5 month old Shiba Inu. She makes very conscious decisions not to listen and it's frustrating, but she's good practice for bad dogs.

Thank you very much!
And it is a Sony a7, shot with a 50mm Prime.

Thanks. Any recommendations on a flash?

Also, just took this about an hour ago. How does the watermark look on it? Too noticeable? Is it distracting in the middle like that?

You can clearly see the subject and it can't be cropped out. As a theft deterrent this works good.
>>2985435
Thank you. I just didn't want it to be distracting, but I guess my photographs online are a sample of my work, not my finished product.
