How was this photo taken? I mean, sure, I know it's light trails created from long exposure, but exactly how did they make them blend in with the subject so seamlessly?

That "corduroy line" pattern in the wider light streaks can mean they used an LED wand or light panel.

They could have done a pass or two lighting the car, then the passes with the light toward camera to make streaks.

Put camera on tripod.

Take first basic shot of car with desired lighting.

Remove all the lighting

Do each streak pass with a light wand and long exposure seperately

Add and align all layers in ps

Set blend mode to lighten on the light streaks.
