Has anyone tried this for equipment?
I bought a $600 lens yesterday, hasn't arrived yet. Is it going to be fucked and beaten with missing manuals?

it should be fine.
I buy "factory refurbished" stuff all the time and its usually in excellent condition.

I bought a pentax limited 20-40 from them at nearly half the price, and it turned out well. I imagine it's just stuff they get from returns. If anything, amazon's really good about returns.

Lens arrived. No camera yet to test it(next week) but looks as new as it can be. Looks like a return item.
The previous fag obviously opened it because he put the lens upside down in the case (the foam on top was squished as fuck but it returned today to its normal shape.
There is a very slight 'bump' 'grind' (?) halfway when I turn the focus ring but doesn't make it less smooth or anything, most likely it is my autism. (It feels as if inside the groove there is a tiny bump and you feel it on your fingers as you turn the focus, but doesn't make any difference in the operation).

shake your lens, is it loose? like do you hear anything jingling? if so I would start the return process

After I moved the ring a bit the 'bump' disappeared. Feels like the lens was been focused for the first time so that's good.
Yes, there is a very slight, tiny moving towards the back of it (the zoom area).
However I can only hear it, you don't feel it on your fingers. Also it is a soft sound, 'bassy' not like harsh like broken parts.
It sounds like it is something normal for a sub $1000 lens.
Also from some Sigma forums:
"there is definitely play in the lens if I shake it gently. Most likely in the areas that allow it to zoom. The 17-50 has even more moving parts with the addition of OS, so this doesn't surprise me. Others can confirm, but I suspect it's quite normal."
"I am betting that is the OS you are hearing/feeling.
Is the same rattle apparent with the camera on and the OS engaged? If so there may be an issue. If not it is the OS.
I have the new Sigma 17-70 2.8 - 4 and it does the same thing. I was so worried that I even e mailed Sigma and got a very quick nice response telling me it is the OS. "
What's the OS about?
I think it is normal but will keep an eye at it.
