Hey guys.
I recently discovered i had a talent for photography, and that i really enjoy shooting the emotions that show on peoples faces.
I was recently on a LARPing event, whitch is i hobby of mine for 4 years. I was feeling hungover and didn't feel like fighting, so one of the guys gives me his camera after i asked him. It had one of those zoom things(objectives?) that was wider and i guess had automatics light configurations, and another one was for a way larger zoom and focus. Both were on autofocus.
It was a nikon i think,
So, what i'm asking, is it realistic to find similar gear, for a realistic price(eastern europe, they dont seem to be more than 200-300 euros for a mid tier one), and make this a casual hobby?

Why did you arrive at that conclusion?
>>2978039
My mom told me they are good
>>2978044

>>2978050
Why would I want to doxx you?
>>2978051
Just wanted to see if anyone cares about that. This is 4chan.
Or maybe I'm just a bit paranoid from the weed.

>then i show them on /p/ and everyone convulses in a shitfit about how awful my pictures are
That's because /p/ hates everything. Why would your mother lie to you?
But then again you guys may be right and in full of shit , cut who cares. Wanna see pics?

U WANNA SEE U WANNA SEE?
U SURE? REALLY? WANNA SEE IT?
fuck off, just throw your stuff down in a thread without any of this set-up bullshit, or flush them down the RPT if you only have a few pics to share

Language barrier i guess
They're a bit dark and grim, it was cloudy out
>>2978079
Thanks buddy!
For that shit you can use your phone camera fine enough.
You can always get better gear when you know what you're doing.

second hand tamorn 28-75 f2.8 and 2nd hand body of your choice.
The lens can be had for a little over 100 eurodollars and will last for as long as you want to use it, the body is largely irrelevant, image quality is all incredibly similar from anything within the last 5 years.
Few things to be aware of.
You can go Nikon, Pentax or Canon.
Canon has the worst image quality due to their sensors being a bit behind, nikon and pentax both use sensors from sony and will give nigh on identical images.
The Nikon D3XXX range are a waste of money as they don't have a screw drive autofocus, serverely limiting your lens choices, the D5XXX and D7XXX range do and are definitely worth the extra cost.
Pentax may well be the most affordable option, and the one I would recommend, especially if you find a good priced K5, they are very hard wearing, most are fully weatherproofed and imo much nicer to use thanks to a better array of dials and buttons. Also, if you do find a k5/k3 in your price range they have "ibis" this allows you to take handheld shots in low light with much less blur. pentax has it's downfalls, there's limited things in the way of an upgrade path (although the K1 is the motherfucking boss of FF dslrs) and their lens selection is a bit limited compared to the big 2 brands.
megapixels aren't important, "full hd" is 2 megapixels, 12MP is more than you will need unless you want to print bigger than A3 (pro tip, big prints look tacky unless they're fucking amazing, you're not going to do anything fucking amazing for a while)
The other option, that may interest you is the Sony mirrorless range, because they have an electronic viewfinder, as opposed to just a fancy window, you get an exact preview of how your shot will look, you may find this helps you grasp the exposure triangle much quicker and get the shots you want first time, you're going to be stuck with just a 2nd hand body and a shit lens though as it's a bit more of an expensive option.

no. you just have to only show your best work
>>2978054
>why would your mother lie to you
This. Actually none of my friends or family ever lied to me about my photos. When I started out "seriously" one of my friends told me they were pretty mediocre. Others told me some shots of mine were boring. These days I get a lot more praise from them but I don't think much of that and shoot for myself.
