pixel's got a really wide angle lens so your composition matters a lot. HDR+ mode is also really good

Get a proper old digital camera, sony nex 3,5,6,7 can be had very cheap and can use very cheap lenses.

Nikon d90, d7000, d3100, d5100, pentax k50, kx, k30, k5 are all cheap and work just fine if you want a dslr style.

These are pretty good for phone snaps. You should just buy a proper camera and do it properly, since you show a bit of promise.

A phone is good for some snapshots. I think the Pixel can shoot RAW, so do that. You'll get a bunch of good photos out of it, I imagine.


Mobile phone lenses are pretty much a gimmick, you really want a MILC or DSLR for that reason already if you do photography as a hobby (but there is also the triggering of flash units, better autofocus, faster burst rates and what not).
