So I think I'm going to start advertising for doing real estate photography in my area. I work for a company now taking photos of vacation rentals and doing matterport. I'd like to get some work on the side but I'm unsure if I should just go the hurr durr firstname lastname photography or something else. Any ideas?

Unless your name is stupid, I think your name is fine. Maybe just <lastname>+photography? And you can keep the same domain name as your business evolves.
And even if it's stupid, it might be stupid in a memorable way.
Two of the biggest commercial photogs in my city just have their last name as their brand name.
Nothing makes me kek like a one man shop with some overblown name like OMNIFOCUS SUPER TECH WORLDWIDE MEDIA UNLIMITED™.

if you're interested on a particular area of photography then make your name relate to it:
-m2 photography
-Interior Imaging
-Spacial photographic solutions
-Asbestos pictures
I dont really know
I'd say use a good name that isn't necessarily photo related but can be seen from that angle. So when you market yourself as a photog everybody gets the connection but then you can do other stuff also.
I'm an entrepeneur and my fields are:
Photography
Marine biological field work
Excavation (?)
Exhibition building
My business can be run under all these.

Most people do a Firstname Lastname Photography because you only have to fill out a few legal forms for your business license and taxes, and they're all free. If you pick a name not associated with your last name, then you're DBA (doing business as) an alias, and that requires more forms and have some legal fees.
