Tried to photograph some buildings/architecture in London a few days ago. I don't think these are too great but can't pinpoint why, I think its due to composition but perhaps I could do something in post production to improve them. Whats /p/'s general consensus on these?
Also architectural portrait thread.

okay so this is a question of language. your photo directs the viewer to the sky (diagonal line from LL corner, light in UR, vanishing pint perspective) but there's nothing there. you didn't WANT to direct the viewer to the sky. so compose differently. I will also note that typically starting leading lines in the corner of a photo is too strong an effect and is typical of amateur work.

this is a photo of the gherkin. and some other badly framed crap in the bottom which it looks like you didn't have any use for -- you would've preferred that it just wasn't there. and a reflection without a visible source. the halo in the sky is effective, though. ultimately it's not transformative or technically impressive enough to be very interesting, unless it's your first time seeing the building.

you've got a pattern, great. but other than the reflections your light is crap. the sky looks like garbage. the boats are a dark mess. some of this might be fixed by framing. you probably should have panned down slightly to move the horizon up for better balance.
I wouldn't bother trying to process these, you need to get out and take lots more pictures to refine your composition skills. it takes time!

it's because modern london architecture is degenerate modern shit. it's impossible to take a good photo of something as shitty as london.
