>made
That's not how you English. Step up senpai.
>>2968023
Uh, sure it is. You make photos, so "the second best photo you ever made" is more or less correct.
Learn to English, fuckboy.
>>2968024
>he thinks he makes a photograph
This guy, he's a fucking master using wet plates out the back of his ford.
You take a photograph. No amount of trying to force a word into usage will change that.
>>2968028
"Make" makes a hell of a lot more sense to describe the creation of a photograph than "take", no matter the vernacular.
You don't "take" a painting, you don't "take" a sculpture, you don't "take" bouef bourguignon, you don't "take" a house, you don't "take" literally anything else that you create. In fact, the use of take is so fucking abundantly moronic that I'm willing to say that anyone who uses it is a subhuman retard.
>>2968030
Those are artistic mediums. You however are capturing a moment, hence taking it.
Don't worry though, you'll get a hold of this ol' English at some point.
>>2968030
you don't "make" any of those things either.
>You don't "take" a painting
you paint a painting.
>you don't "take" a sculpture
you sculpt a sculpture
>you don't "take" bouef bourguigno
you cook bouef bourguigno
>you don't "take" a house
you build a house
>In fact, the use of take is so fucking abundantly moronic that I'm willing to say that anyone who uses it is a subhuman retard.
literally every english speaking photographer is a subhuman retard by your standards, when in reality, it's you who is a retard.
i bet you make poopie too.
>>2968044
>you don't "make" any of those things either.
lol sure you do.
And, to cater to your example, you "photograph" your subject, exactly the same as if you paint it. Pretty straightforward, right?
>>2968050
yeah, you photograph your subject. you take the photograph.
two different objects that take two different verbs.
>>2968051
Where are you taking it?
>>2968050
Again. No amount of forcing by numales, liberals and people who use social media will force this word to be correct.
>>2968052
wherever you go.
you're saving the moment to take with you, if that helps you make sense of it.
>>2968053
What, capture? I agree. It's a cancerous scourge that should be driven from the lexicon of photographers everywhere.
"make" and "photograph" are the only verbs you need.
>>2968056
Nice bait goyim. Maybe it's because you don't have a hebrew term for it. I would have thought they would have :^)
>>2968054
But that's fucking idiotic. Wouldn't "save" be more appropriate in this circumstance? Can you think of anything else that uses "take" in place of make? I sure can't.
>>2968060
Oh, jew and your jokes.
>>2968061
firstly, taking a representation of the scene in front of you isn't idiotic and actually does make sense. you're taking something with you when you leave.
to your question, not necessarily used in place of make, but taking a bath, taking a walk, taking a shit, taking a look etc. they don't really make sense, but it's the verb that's used.
Well played OP, you created the perfect autism containment thread, and all it took was a request to post a photograph.
Cue people literally incapable of doing so arguing over grammar.
Absolute genius.
>>2968078
Autistic person here.
I don't have a "2nd best photo" either, so I don't mind derailing it. People who have taken more than 5 photos in their life will struggle to rank their photos as they start measuring them in a 1 and 0 style.
>>2968082
Asking for second best was indeed guaranteed to send everyone into a tailspin.
I'm with you on the yes/no ranking scheme.
