What are some cameras similar in quality/price to the nikon d7000? I want to see different options.

D300, it's a little weaker at high ISO but the price, build, and performance are all superior.

I have to disagree. Maybe 1 or 2 stops, with good exposure. I've got a 300 and my brother's got a 7000 and as long as you don't fuck the shadows it's still a perfectly usable camera, especially if one makes prints instead of pixel peeping it holds up pretty well.
