Hey /p/, I'm considering buying a new DSLR and was wondering if there is any overt threat of knock-off or otherwise fake products.
To be more specific, I'm looking to buy a Pentax K-3 and found some listings for Silver Pentax K-3's that I'm cautious of. They are listed as used (but in good condition), each has a battery grip, neither has a lens, and they come from Japan.
Are any of these red flags for a K-3 in the 800-900 range?
>$800-900 range
>for a used camera you can buy for $750 new with a battery grip

The best pricing I see for a new one is listed closer to 1,300-1,500. Even then, that price only accounts for the body only.

Wow. Not sure how that got past me but thank you.

No problem. Are you sure you weren't looking at the updated K-3 II? That lists for $900 with a free battery grip on B&H.

The battery grip appears when you add it to your cart.

I was thinking about the K-3. I guess I just didn't look hard enough for the best listing so I'm glad I posted here. I WAS thinking about getting the K-3II but I'm not convinced that it adds enough that I'm interested in to warrant the price difference.

k-3 II has pixel shift, which to me is really one of the only reasons to go pentax

The K-3 had two special editions, Silver and Prestige, although the latter might belong to the K-3II.
Same as the regular K-3 but with the silver finish and comes with a similarly themed grip. Looks might gorgeous, much better for vintage looks than a Df.
It is in every aspect except the color a regular K-3.
Also leather strap.

>pixel shift
>only reasons to go pentax
>not the limited pancake primes
It's like you don't care about photography
Also no poppy-uppy flash.

other brands have those. can even go for them exquisite small voigtlander primes for nikon and canon (pentax mount are a rare find)
if you're shooting a static scene, pixel shift is absolutely amazing, not other brand's aps-c can touch pentax on this.

Does Pentax have an entry body with similar styling?

... but gives unusable noisy images at ISO 400

Fucking sexy looking cam right there

and has worse dynamic range than a dslr from 8 years ago.

pixel shift and get full rgb on your pixels.
